EDINBURGH

– Head towards the iconic FORTH ROAD AND RAIL BRIDGE which recently achieved World Heritage status at SOUTH QUEENSFERRY, stop off at South Queensferry ferry slip then onwards to DUNFERMLINE, visiting DUNFERMLINE ABBEY, the final resting place of ROBERT THE BRUCE and birthplace of CHARLES I, the last monarch born in Scotland. Next, you will be taken along the beautiful Fife coastal route visiting quaint fishing villages dating from the 10th and 11th century, stopping off at ANSTRUTHER for lunch. Then on to ST ANDREWS, the home of golf, this town boasts a castle, cathedral, ancient university, fabulous beaches and of course THE ROYAL AND ANCIENT GOLF CLUB. Then head homewards to EDINBURGH.

St Andrews is located on the Fife coast on the east side of Scotland and is easily reached from Glasgow or Edinburgh for a day tour. The town has the oldest university in Scotland with stunning architecture at 700 years old it’s a must see.

The town castle has underground tunnels that you can climb into, St Andrews Cathedral is one of the largest in Scotland.
And not forgotten the old course used for the open championship ever 8 years regarded by most as the home of Golf, the fact that it’s a public course means it’s open to everyone, you and your Guide stroll the first and last fairways to the Swilkine Bridge and have your picture taken like so many pasts great golfers did.
