Loch Ness is a huge, deep (upto 755 feet in depth!), freshwater loch in Scotland based in the Scottish highlands near Inverness. An interesting fact about Loch Ness is that it holds more fresh water in this one area than every lake in England and Wales combined!
Urquhart Castle is located on the western shore of the loch with several lighthouses based at Lochend and Fort Augustus. Given the fact the loch is so deep and it’s freshwater’s are home to a huge number of different fish and aquatic species. (not including ‘Nessie’)
On the way experiencing some of the best scenery Scotland has to offer, your group will be given a rich history of all locations on the way. On arrival at Loch Ness we will take you to the areas of the Loch that most sightings of the monster ‘Nessie’ have taken place including the iconic Urquhart Castle. There are also boat trips available. This tour can be done in one day but we recommend an overnight stay to get the best of this magical place and also allow time to visit the historic and atmospheric Culloden Battlefield.
